Scorpions

Through the years of keeping scorpions I experience the amazing survival capabilities of these resilient animals. They can be found to the hottest desert in the world all the way to the humid tropics of Asia and South America. Each individual species of scorpion has their own unique adaptation in order to survive in their natural environment. With powerful claws, versatile armor and venomous stinger, the scorpion is one of the most formidable animals in the world. However, even though they are a fearsome predator in the wild, they also show a gentle side. I am fortunate to witness this phenomenon when a mother scorpion gives birth. She takes care of her and protect her babies on her back until the baby scorplings are strong enough to fend for themselves. For me, scorpion symbolize a strong animal they are the true definition of survivor. They are able to withstand harsh environment and thrive through hardship.
